The fans on my cards weren't kicking on no matter what, and my cards were overheating (as alerted by nearly every piece of other monitoring software I have installed). I saw the same issues with not starting properly, and also noticed that my "User profile" wasn't saving. More determined than ever, I re-installed it with the latest version. I realized I wasn't using the latest version of the software (the auto-updater said no updates were available) so I manually installed the version I found on the ASUS website.

I ended up reverting my PC to a restore point. I kept getting some error message, I forget what it was. I went to uninstall the software, and it simply refused. Then, when trying to figure out what the different profiles did, I clicked "OC MODE" and the display port on the card just stopped working, even after reboots. I'd have to kill the PID and start it again to get it to actually show up. Task Manager would say it was running, but it wouldn't show on the screen. I really started noticing problems when the tool wouldn't start up. Many of the features are not explained in detail, but I was still willing to keep trying. The software wasn't so easy to use, but I was willing to put up with it as long as I could find documentation and figure it out. I just (mostly) completed a high-end build, running Win10 64bit with two ASUS GTX 980 TI STRIX DC3OC cards in 2-way SLI.įor the most part, the build went really smoothly, but the worst experience I've had so far is with the software ASUS recommends you use to tweak the cards, ASUS GPU Tweak II. I'm very new to overclocking and this is my first high-end gaming PC. I'd love to hear if anyone shared a similar experience and would appreciate any tips.
